Using ELIDE
ELIDE lets you make blackout poems from texts, and share them. By using it you agree not to post unlawful content, content that harasses or targets anyone, or someone else's private information.
Your poems
You keep the rights to what you make. By publishing a poem you let ELIDE display it publicly on the site and in previews. Poems that trip our age screen are hidden behind a confirmation and left out of listings.
Source texts
Source texts come from Project Gutenberg and other public-domain sources, and are used under their terms. Texts you upload stay link-only and are not listed publicly.
Ads and links
ELIDE is funded in part by non-personalised Google ads shown outside the UK, the European Union and Switzerland, and by affiliate links, which are marked. Ads are not shown on link-only poems, uploaded work, forms or PDFs. See the privacy page.
Removal
We may remove any poem. You can ask us to remove one using its share code on the removal form.
No warranty, limits
ELIDE is provided as is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law.
